It has been a rather frustrating few weeks…

But first let me say a HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to the wonderful Cr. Melanie Gibbons for winning the liberal preselection for Menai, Honey you rock, you do so much great work and deserve this… If anyone can restore my faith in government it is you!

Dave has been having migraines for the last few weeks so we went off to the doctor, she has ordered blood tests and some medication…. so hopefully he will improve soon… he has been a little slow keeping up his gaming blogging, but we can cut him a little slack I suppose…

Now onto the not so fun stuff…

We are still stuck at Billimari…

Our plumber is as slow as a wet week, we still have no hot water, or any water at all actually coming from the hot water heater… trying to liaise a time when he can get to the house when we are there has been near impossible… so we have left the door to the back room unlocked… he can’t get into the house but has access to the heater and a sink, hopefully he will have been by the time we get there next week… aaarrrggghhh….

And our painter has been called away for 2 weeks so that is on hold too…

I have sent off the plans for the flooring people tonight, so hopefully we will get dates for that pretty soon too…

On the upside though, the asbestos removal guy sent us his quote, it was not as bad as I imagined… thank the gods, but on the down side he tells me that the cladding on the whole of the house is asbestos too…. FAR OUT…. (those of you who now me, know there are many more expletives to go in there, but I am being good…), but it should be OK as long as we do not put holes etc in it…. but the shed needs to go as it is full of holes etc…

and just to cheer things up a little, the stove here at Billimari blew up the other day so I am reduced to cooking on a gas Butane stove… oh well.. LOL…

Anyway….

We have been looking into ways to meet people in the community and get ourselves settled…

So tonight we decided to attend the public meeting for the local PCYC... they are struggling to get people to volunteer and currently have no manager or steering committee… That is where they are going with these meetings, to form a committee and find a manager… We are happy to put in time down there and Dave is looking at starting  a Cowra based roleplaying group which we could combine with the existing Warhammer group…

I think the poor girls eyes nearly fell out of her head when we said were happy to help out wherever we can for as long as needed…

I loved the PCYC when I was growing up, it was a great place to hang out and who could forget those “sensational” blue light disco’s…

So if anyone has some fundraising ideas or knows anyone involved in major sporting clubs that could come for a visit or make some donations any help would be appreciated… and it is tax deductible too… always a bonus…

It is a worthy cause and they are in desperate need of assistance to help our kids…

anyway it in nearly 2am, so I am off to bed… hope you all have a great weekend…

Take Care

M xoxo
