In which our intrepid hero receives a mysterious envelope.

Yesterday, amongst the catalogues and the mountain of mail which Mim K/W seems to get every day, I found an unusual envelope, stamped with what looked like a red goat’s head.

I knew I’d seen it before, but it took a few moments to place. When I worked it out, I had a pretty good guess at what lay inside the envelope:

It’s another piece from my friend Nicholas’ Free Art! project. This is the second one I’ve received; the first is shown in this post.

If you’re interested in being supporting Nicholas’ work (and receiving free art in the mail), drop by the Free Art blog and sign up. Or you could drop into his eBay store or his exhibition in Balmain at the end of next month, and make a purchase.

In which our intrepid hero patronises the arts.

If you’ve been looking at my blogroll closely, you’ll notice that I added a couple of links recently. Both are from my friend Nicholas, who is currently running his Free Art! project, whereby he assembles a mailing list and sends a piece of art through the post every day.

Yesterday, I was delighted to find this amongst the usual mess of catalogues and poli-spam:

I’d like to plug Nicholas’ work; I’ve bought a number of his paintings at exhibitions (this one sits on my desk at work), and he’s got an eBay site up at the moment, with some of his more recent works. I’ve also got an authentic Animal Crackers Calendar on order.

Anyway, I wholeheartedly encourage anyone out there to sign on to Nicholas’ Free Art! endeavours. I’m sure he’d be chuffed to get requests from as far afield as say, Ann Arbor MI or Paris.
